Salted Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Brownies

Salted Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Brownies…You had me at Salted!!! OMG, I think I have died and gone to heaven. Warm chewy brownies made spectacular with a pretzel crust and topped with salted caramel.


Salted Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Brownies
Pretzel Crust
  • 3 cups pretzels, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
Brownie Center
  • 1 box chocolate brownie mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
Salted Caramel Topping
  • 4 ounces caramel topping
  • 2-4 ounces chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  1. Preheat oven to 350º.

    Spray bottom of 8x8 or 9x9 pan with cooking spray.

    Add crushed pretzels and melted butter. Stir and press to bottom of pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Crush pretzels in a food processor or using a plastic baggie and crushing with hands or rolling pin.

    In a medium bowl make brownie mix according to package. Mine called for an egg, water and oil. Mix well and gently pour over pretzel crust. Bake according to package, mine suggested 40-45 minutes at 325º.

    Remove from oven and drizzle caramel, then melted chocolate (I melted wafers in the microwave on defrost for 1 minute). 

    Dash sea salt on top.
